Good and bad food for teeth

Prevention is most useful when it comes to your healthy teeth.

Although fillings, seals, veneers, professional teeth whitening, dental crowns make your teeth stronger and more beautiful it is good to prevent cavities and tooth stains by oral care, brushing at home, use of mouthwash for hard to reach areas and not in lastly, professional dental hygiene at the dentist.

However, often the foods we eat and inappropriate eating habits can create oral ailments and inflammation.

Let's see what are the 5 bad foods for teeth:

  1. Candies, caramels, jellies and sugar adhere to the tooth surface, initially creating demineralization, enamel lesions and later caries.

  2. Sour pickles. Frequent, daily consumption of too acidic pickles affects tooth enamel.

  3. Carbonated drinks and some commercial juices contain a lot of sugar and the citric acid in them corrodes tooth enamel in the long run.

  4. Fluffs, sticks, dried pretzels are adherent carbohydrates that, if not meticulously cleaned, cause cavities on the molars and between the teeth.

  5. Chewed citrus fruits. Lemon is an excellent source of vitamin C but in the form of juice, which can be drunk with straw but not chewed. Also valid for grapefruit.

Okay, I got it with the bad ones but what are the good foods for teeth?

There are countless good foods for your teeth, and today I will list 5 of them:

  1. Apple is the ideal fruit for teeth. It stimulates salivary secretion and thus cleanses more residues in the oral cavity. When bitten by an apple, the front and back teeth are easily washed, especially on the masticatory areas.

  2. Vegetables and green leaves are rich in fiber helping to digest and maintain good cholesterol. When you chew spinach or salad, it also increases the salivary flow which helps in oral and digestive cleansing.

  3. Strawberries contain malic acid that naturally whitens teeth. Bicarbonate crushed strawberries applied on a soft brush brush for 5 minutes will whiten your teeth naturally. Then clean the seeds between the teeth with dental floss or mouth irrigator.

  4. Cheeses and dairy products (preferably goat intolerant) contain calcium, which is the key ingredient in hydroxyapatite that strengthens enamel and bones. The cheeses also contain casein which, together with calcium, repairs the structure of the enamel. That's why the French and Italians end the meal with ripened cheeses.

  5. Water is essential because it washes away sugar and acids from the teeth and tongue. Nothing is more useful than intense rinsing with water both after eating and after brushing your teeth.

With healthy food and drinks for your teeth!
